Warranties & insurance — FL IMPORT AUTO
Warranties and insurance: distinguish each form of protection.
The word “warranty” can cover several different mechanisms. FL IMPORT AUTO specifies in the case which protection actually applies to the vehicle or service, without turning a commercial statement into non-existent cover.
Seller warranty
Where a professional seller sells the vehicle to the client, the applicable warranties and sale conditions are governed in particular by the seller’s contract and the law applicable to the sale. Their duration and scope should be read before commitment.
Mechanical warranty
A commercial or breakdown warranty may be included, optional or absent. The provider, covered components, exclusions, deductibles, limit and territory should be identified.
Inspection / expert assessment
An independent inspection reduces risk but is not a guarantee against future faults. Its report should state what was examined and its limitations.
Transport
The carrier’s liability and any additional insurance are separate from the vehicle warranty. The level of cover should be checked according to the value and route.
FL IMPORT AUTO’s liability
FL IMPORT AUTO is responsible for the performance of its own brokerage assignment in accordance with the mandate and applicable law. Unless expressly stated otherwise, FL IMPORT AUTO is not the manufacturer, vehicle seller, mechanical expert or insurer.
Before approval
- Identify the seller and the applicable written warranty.
- Read the exclusions and limitations of any mechanical warranty.
- Check the cover applying to the planned transport.
- Keep supporting documents and report any reservation immediately at handover.
