The Mercedes A-Class is widely available on the European market, with many petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid versions. To judge whether a foreign offer is genuinely attractive, compare similar specifications and check the vehicle's documentation.
AMG Line, Business or another trim: identify the version correctly
Trim strongly affects appearance and equipment. An AMG package, panoramic roof, sports seats, ambient lighting, camera, navigation or digital dashboard can change an A-Class's value.

Petrol, diesel or plug-in hybrid
The engine choice should suit the intended use. On a diesel version, usage and maintenance history matter. On an A 250 e or another plug-in hybrid, the charging system, cables and available information about the hybrid components must also be checked.
Check maintenance and mileage
Ask for available maintenance evidence and check that successive mileage readings are consistent. A recent high-mileage vehicle may still be suitable if its documentation is clear, but should be compared with vehicles of a similar profile.
Check advertised equipment
Listings may use simplified descriptions. Important equipment must be confirmed using the documentation, photos, VIN where available and seller information.
Compare the real budget
The European purchase price is only part of the cost. Add transport, checks, procedures and fees applicable to French registration. A French comparison should use an A-Class of similar year, mileage, engine and trim.
