Notre méthode distingue les informations du véhicule, les éléments communiqués par le vendeur partenaire et les démarches administratives. Les disponibilités, documents, taxes, frais et règles applicables sont reconfirmés au moment de chaque dossier.

The German market offers a wide range of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, from premium compacts to large SUVs. To avoid a misleading comparison, however, each vehicle must be assessed as a unique specification.

Trim and equipment: compare more than the model

An A-Class, C-Class, GLC or GLE may come with very different equipment levels. AMG Line, assistance packages, 4Matic, a panoramic roof, Digital Light, specific upholstery and premium audio systems influence the vehicle's value.

Browse the currently listed Mercedes-Benz vehicles, as well as our pages for Mercedes A-Class and Mercedes GLE.

Assess maintenance and previous use

An advertised service book or history is an initial indication, but look for supporting records and a consistent timeline. Check servicing, successive mileage readings and major work. On plug-in hybrids, components related to the drivetrain and charging also deserve particular attention.

Check bodywork and expensive equipment

A detailed visual inspection matters for premium vehicles. Ask for high-resolution photos and examine colour differences, panel alignment, wheels, tyres, glazing and interior. Also check that important equipment works where possible.

Documents and the French procedure

Before purchase, the documentation must be sufficiently complete to allow the sale and prepare French registration. The seller's identity, foreign documents, vehicle conformity and required supporting records must be examined before committing.

For the overall process, see our guide to importing from Germany, then our articles on the French tax clearance certificate (quitus fiscal) and the registration certificate.

Compare the total cost delivered to France

The German price is only one component. Transport, checks, procedures, registration and taxes must be taken into account. Price differences from the French market must always be compared using genuinely similar specifications.

Personalised Mercedes-Benz search

For a specific engine, trim or colour, use our bespoke search. We can compare several vehicles available through our European partner network before selecting an option.

Costs, procedures and warranty terms depend on the vehicle and are reconfirmed before any commitment.
