A used Jaguar can be very attractive on the European market, particularly premium, sports or models that have become rare in France. This type of purchase, however, requires more thorough checks than a simple price comparison.
Choose the right specification
Jaguar XK, XKR, E-PACE or another model: engine, power, body style and trim can significantly affect value. On coupés and convertibles, overall condition, specification and equipment are particularly important.

History and maintenance: the top priority
For a premium or sports vehicle, look for the most complete documentation possible. Invoices, servicing, successive mileage readings and major repairs help explain the vehicle's life. Low mileage does not make up for inadequate maintenance.
For a high-performance powertrain, an additional check before deciding may be appropriate, depending on the vehicle's value and the quality of the available documents.
Bodywork, interior and convertible roof
Inspect colour differences, panel alignment, wheels, glazing and interior condition. On a convertible, also request detailed information on the roof and its operation. Clear photos and a video can help filter candidates before a possible inspection.
Check advertised equipment
Navigation, leather upholstery, electric or heated seats, xenon or LED headlights, audio and parking assistance must be confirmed. Older or specialised equipment can be costly to repair.
Documents and import budget
Before payment, verify the seller's identity, foreign documents and paperwork needed for future French registration. The overall budget must include the vehicle, transport, checks and import-related costs.
