The Netherlands is an interesting market for finding recent used, hybrid, electric or premium vehicles. As with any remote purchase, the quality of the transaction depends above all on the checks carried out before payment.
1. Check the seller
Start by clearly identifying the company or individual selling the vehicle. Contact details, commercial documents and listing information must be consistent. For a business purchase, also check the tax information relevant to the case where applicable.
2. Check the vehicle's history
Ask for the available information on servicing, successive mileage readings, repairs and inspections. Dutch listings may contain extensive details, but the final documentation must be cross-checked before committing.
The vehicle must be assessed on its exact specification: year, engine, gearbox, trim, equipment and condition. A difference in trim alone can distort a price comparison with France.
3. Obtain the necessary documents
Before paying, check that the documents allowing the sale, export and future registration are available. Also anticipate the tax and administrative supporting documents required in France.

4. Transport the vehicle to France
Transport can be arranged by truck or another solution suited to the case. Before collection, reconfirm the address, availability, documents handed over with the vehicle and collection arrangements.
5. Calculate the overall budget
Do not compare only the Dutch price with a French listing. Build a budget including the costs related to the specific vehicle: transport, checks, procedures, any registration fees and taxes. Rules and amounts may vary depending on the vehicle's characteristics.
6. Select several alternatives
A good approach is to compare several vehicles before committing. This helps you assess the price, equipment level, history and overall quality of the documentation.
